Spirit Blossom Kalista SHOWCASE

League of Legends Fan-Skin designed for the "LoL LATAM Cosplay Circuit" 2020 Contest, themed around the Spirit Blossom Event.
The concept behind this Kalista skin is inspired from the Japanese Onna Bugeisha (Female Samurai)
A group of warriors, trained to protect villages when the Samurai were off to a war or battle in the name of the Land Lord. This women dissappeared when the modern Japan started to rise, at that moment, the Onna Bugeisha were lowered to the rank trophy wives.
Most of them decided to fight one last time, just to die fighting instead of becoming someone else´s possession.
One story tells about an Onna Bugeisha who, when hurt in battle, asked her sister to decapitate her so she wouldn´t become a Trophy for a burguess man. Her sibling did what she asked and burried the head on the beach. Now, there it stands a statue in honor of these weaponized group of noble women.
For this Kalista fan-skin, I took this last story as an anchoring point, also inspiring from her own lore.
An honorable onna bugeisha, betrayed in battle by the men she was suppossed to protect. Killed by a rain of arrows in the middle of a battle only to appear in the Spirit Realm, angry and confused.
Almost turned into and Azakana by Thresh, saved by the spirit of Redemption. Now roams the land as the soldier she once was.
